1st Homework - Due 9/25

This assignment is meant to help you to become familiar with Math 1 resources. It shouldn't take a lot of time, but it should be taken seriously because you will find these resources to be key in successfully completing the course.

1) Log into Webwork and complete Problem Set #0. This assignment doesn't involve any actual math. It's designed to help you to become familiar with the software. (5 points)

2) Office hours provide an opportunity for students to meet one-on-one with the Math 1 instructors. We want to make sure that everyone knows where to find us during office hours. Please walk to your instructor's office (Kemeny 243) and sign your name on the door. If we're in, feel free to say hi. (5 points)

3) In choosing a course textbook, it is impossible to find one that suits every student's learning style. As a result, many Math 1 students find it useful to read other calculus textbooks alongside the course text. Go to Berry-Baker Library and write down the name and call number of a calculus book (one that is different from our course textbook, Stewart's Single Variable Calculus and Early Transcendentals). Please also write one sentence describing the location of the book (ex. 6th floor of Baker-Berry, next to the soda machine). This portion of the assignment will be collected on Friday, so please write legibly. (5 points)
